Re: [blind-democracy] Re: Sanders Delegation Plotting in Public and Secretly to Shake Up Democratic Convention

In fact, anyone can be accused of being anything that suits the
purpose of the moment.
Donald Trump calls for a "return to the days when we were a united
nation". Huh? Just which days were those Glory Days, Uncle Donald?
Was it the day when President Jackson declared open war on "Savage
Redskins"? Or perhaps we would consider it to be those long forgotten
days down on the Plantation, swinging on the porch swing, sipping our
Mint Julep and listening to the happy singing of our "Darkies" as they
picked cotton all the day long. Of course we may have seen the
beginning of the end of those distant Glory Days, when the 1929 Stock
Market came crashing down around our ears.
But wait just a moment. By, "A return to those good old days", are we
talking Code to cover our longing for a return of the total control by
the White Elite over all Persons of Color and of the Lowly Working
Class?
But that was a world where few of the present day Republicans
ancestors ever lived.
Yet they cheer and chant for a day when they will return to those good
old days. Most of these mindless marvels forget that they came from
folks who worked 12 to 16 hours 6 days a week for 35 cents per day.
Those "good old days" did not provide sick leave, or maternity leave,
or paid vacations, or health care, or old age pensions, or the right
to organize workers to negotiate with the owners for pay raises. And
that was if your ancestors were White.
So now we are supposed to return to those days of glory for the small
minority of Americans? Well why not. We already are expected to
fight their wars and then return to our low paying jobs to continue
supplying them with their heart's desire. Good old days, indeed!
