Subject: Do any of you believe in reincarnation?
I make no claim one way or the other. But interesting stories do exist to
suggest that we experience reincarnation. On NPR this morning there was a
professor who is investigating this very subject. He makes no claim as to
his own belief, but says that the field fascinates him and he is gathering
information.
He gave a most compelling story about a family who had a two year old boy
who developed a real passion for air planes. The boy began having
nightmares where he said he was in a plane and it crashed. He was flying
the plane. And it took off from a boat. The boy told his parents what he
thought the name of the boat was, what his name was, and the name of his
best friend, who also flew planes.
With the information they had, and several years of checking it out, his
parents found the ship, although the boy had only given the first part of
the name, and they discovered that it had lost a plane in the South Pacific
during the Second World War. The name of the missing pilot was the same as
the boy had claimed, and his best friend's name was the same as that of
another pilot on the same ship.
This family, good Christians, we were assured, lived in a Southern state, I
forget which one, but the dead pilot had been born and raised in
Pennsylvania. He had been dead for fifty years.
That is about the most interesting story I've heard, in so far as traceable
facts go.
Carl Jarvis...who wonders just who the Hell I was in previous lives. And
does that explain my horrible fear of the Wooly Mamoth?
