At long last, the day is at hand when our caretakers can get their
busybody noses out of folks bedrooms.
I figure that anyone who thinks they need to know what's going on
behind my closed bedroom door doesn't have enough to keep themselves
busy.

In a landmark decision, the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday ruled that
states must license a marriage between same-sex couples and also
recognize gay marriages
performed legally in other parts of the country.

Prior to the ruling, which was 5-4, the nine-justice court seemed
split, with four supposedly opposing and four supporting. Justice
Anthony Kennedy likely
was the deciding vote. He wrote the court's previous three decisions
on gay rights.

Before the decision was handed down, 36 states and the District of
Columbia allowed gay couples to marry. The remaining 14 states with
existing bans on
same-sex marriage argued that the decision should be left to the
people, not the federal court.
