Re: [blind-democracy] NBC Suspends Billy Bush for His Role on Trump Video

You bet it's financial. Ethical? In a pig's eye! It's the old
bottom line in an old capitalist nation. Two things really crank my
engine. First, I am highly insulted by a Media that thinks I'm so
stupid I can't figure out that the Media depends on big advertisers in
order to survive, and that they, the Media, will do whatever it takes
to protect this source of Gold. So why lie?
Second. Billy Bush giggled in the background of some outright
Predator Talk by Donald Trump. Shame on Billy. But I'll tell you, it
took me a long time to stop giving polite smiles and chuckles to
sexist and Racist jokes, back in the 1970's. Long after I'd
determined never to make another sexist or Racial Slur, or pass along
a sexist or Racist joke, I still would smile and even chuckle. I
suppose that if I'd been in the "locker room" with someone like Trump,
and had my smirk recorded, it could come back to haunt me today. But
here's the thing, Billy Bush is dumped by NBC. Trump is allowed to
brand his predator talk as simply being "Locker room talk". Bull
Dooky! Bragging about being so famous that you can grab a woman's
pussy, and she'll let you do it, is not Locker Room Talk. Or, let me
say it differently. If this is still considered locker room talk by
Donald Trump, then it should shout loud and clear to the world that
Donald Trump holds women in contempt. Sure, when I was 15 years old
the boys in the high school locker room did talk like that. That was
in 1950. 66 years and a whole lot of "waking up", has made most of us
Macho guys aware of just what such "Humor" is intended to do. But
Trump doesn't get it. I see a man for whom trashing is a way of life.
A way of making himself appear to be bigger and better than the
simpletons around him. While I know that this attitude still creeps
out from under the rocks and out of the swamps, here in America,
still, it was being slowly strangled and pushed back. Or maybe I'm
being naive to think this, when I see the Empire's posture in the
world, bombing at will, murdering countless thousands of people,
because they look different, or they think different, or, Just Because
We Can Do It!
Okay, so it still exists. But putting Trump in the White House would
formally endorse such behavior. Bad enough that we have our current
Peace Pretender, but Trump? We might as well head for the Canadian
border, if we don't support his "locker room" humor.
