There seems to be an American attitude that any of us might strike it rich, or work our way up the ladder by pulling on our own boot straps. So on the one hand we envy the rich, but we also act as though we think they are being targeted because of their luck or diligence. So, just in case lightning strikes us rich, we protect the very thieves who have robbed the working man/woman for the history of this nation. I sometimes question if the average American realizes that there exists a layer of Super First Class Citizens, including the First Class Corporate "People", who see America as their property, and the masses of workers as their personal resource.
While President Obama turns to talking about jobs, these "Citizens" far prefer a vast pool of unemployed from which to draw. And, as we are seeing in Rick Perry's Texas, the jobs they do offer are at the wage minimum level. And this level will be taken off the books if the trend continues.
I wonder what the results would be if there was a poll of the Super Rich, asking if they think Warren Buffett has gone mad?
