To participate or not: can I make a difference?

To me it is not a case of being disappointed in Obama.  The point of my refusing to support Obama or Romney is that they both represent a government of oppression.  Whether kinder or meaner, it is oppression.
So who does this government represent?  It would not exist if it were not representing some part of the American People.  If the government were just going crazy, spying on everybody through the National Security Agency and other agencies, the powerful people and corporations would be rallying to destroy the government.
But in fact, this is their government.  The spying on millions of American People by the NSA, etc. is not being done to them.  It is being done to protect them, the Ruling
Class, the True American People.  The drone bombs are not falling on the heads of innocent people because they represent a threat to American Freedom.  It is because they might constitute a threat to the Empire's interests.  And furthermore, they can't be a threat to American Freedom because that Freedom has already been so compromised that it virtually has gone extinct.
Of course whatever the outcome of the election, it  is going to affect me, and you, and all folks on this list.  But that is no reason to support any part of it.  What is important is to understand that we do not have a government of Our People any longer...if we ever did.  We must understand that there are two Americas, we, the masses and they, the beneficiaries of all that this wonderful land offers.
We are the new Serfs.  Our Middle Class, a silly concept in itself, is nearly depleted, and the Working Class has fewer and fewer jobs to work at.  Our Lower Class is fast becoming the majority class and the Ruling Class is distancing itself from us, controlling us and building walls around their activities to the point that they no longer even live among us.  They are a nation unto themselves.
Sure, some of us are doing better than others, and we struggle to hang on to what we have in the way of personal independence and possessions, but we are all beginning to feel the heel of our Masters boot.

Interesting read. If we're looking at the election of 2012 from the point of
view of those outside the US, then it's harder to vote for Obama based on
his continuation of the war on terror, increased drone strikes, harsh
treatment of Wiki Leaks and Bradley Manning for his assistance to Wiki
Leaks.
Heck, I'm not saying Romney would be better here, but my biggest
disappointmens in Obama are of a foreign policy nature given that the
president has much more power to dictate foreign policy than domestic policy
which takes a lot more cooperation from Congress.
