another alternative?

Now there we are. Ron, a self admitted conservative, and Carl Jarvis, a
loud mouthed Radical/Agnostic, actually agreeing on more points than we
disagree on.
Do you think that we just might consider dumping Labels and start grouping
folks by their principles? We might find ourselves rubbing shoulders with
the likes of Ron and Carl in the same room. Gads!
Not that I agree with everything Ron wrote. I'll never let him get away
with being absolutely right. That position, I reserve for myself.

I am shocked at people on this list who I, otherwise, consider intelligent
that make comments like:

"I agree that the conservatives would not propose anything... they simply
want us dead so there will be more for them."

Not only are such comments unfounded, but they are, at best, ignorant.

I associated very closely with many, many people who identify with the
conservative ideology, including myself, and I do not know one single
person who wants anyone dead. We want reckless and wasteful government
spending eliminated. We want totally out of control government, especially
the IRS, put back in its place. We want to turn the economy around by
stimulating growth through the private sector by creating more jobs that
will pay a living wage. This includes creating an economic environment that
will encourage manufacturing where we actually produce real, tangible
products. We want to stop filling the welfare rolls and start moving people
back into jobs where they are not dependent on the government. This
includes working with blind people to get them into the workforce. Toward
that objective, I have recently communicated with all of the politicians in
this state, both on the state and federal levels, about funding at least
one position that will be devoted exclusively to finding employment for
blind people. We also discussed the problem of weaning people off
government dependence and into the workforce.

In all my discussions with my conservative friends and politicians, there
was no mention of wanting anyone dead so there will be more for anyone!
