Election Night" Same old same old...

Perhaps this election will serve to begin the process of opening our
eyes to the truth that we are now, and have always been the Evil
Empire.
Like the wolf in sheep's clothing, the American Empire dressed in the
clothing of democracy, a Republic of the people by the people and for
the people. And the Empire's ruling class sold their Fairy Tale to
the people. They have given us a dream world, a myth, a fantasy, a
Never Never Land, a Land of Oz with every town an Emerald City. Hide
the slums, ignore the crumbling infrastructure, hold colorful parades
with marching bands and flags and big balloons. Let our eyes be
clouded over by pink, fluffy cotton candy and whirling birds on the
ends of sticks. "Ladies and gents! Come one, come all. See the
majestic elephants, the pretty girls, the funny clowns and the
prancing horses." And we are dragged by the nose past the dark alley
where all of the "freaks"and misfits live and work.
We want so badly to believe we are something that we are not. We want
to believe that we have great personal freedom, that we are safe
behind our well guarded borders, that we are loved by our friends
around the world. But finally the curtain begins to open and the
monster is seen for what it is. Our sins, like the hens, have come
home to roost.
