7 to 1 was the estimated score.  I suppose the good news is that all that money only bought about six points, the estimates run around 53% to 47%

Now, as the dust settles and Walker goes about "reuniting" Wisconsin, political pontiffs will begin bellying up to the cameras with all the worn out reasons that caused Barrett to go down to defeat. 

But in all of their pompous speculation in which they will reinforce the complexities of our political world, they will most likely pass over one of the most basic factors that is so basic that it will impact coming elections for as long as we tolerate the current system. 

I call it Creeping Conditioning.  Creeping Conditioning is a most effective, subliminal form of propaganda. 

Creeping Conditioning is the Ruling Classes most effective tool, short of bringing in the Bully Boys. 

We 99% Americans know Creeping Conditioning by the names, Mass Media and Entertainment. 

Mass Media has crowded out most other media, and has consolidated its message to the point that it does not matter which channel or what paper you turn to, the message is the same.  But the Ruling Class does not stop there.  To help cloud our brains, they allow their Right Wing to viciously attack their own Mass Media, calling it Leftist and Anti American.  Using their own PR stoolies, the Ruling Class is slowly pulling the Mass Media to the Right.  

They now have turned to closing down the few lines of open communication still available, in particular the Internet.  Watch as they continue to discredit open communication as being subversive.  New laws will constrict usage by the people, giving control over to the media corporations. 

Entertainment has long been a favorite tool of the Ruling Class.  Keeping the Masses distracted and relatively happy keeps them out of the way.  

Remember, much of what we view as "entertainment" reflects current values and reinforces our "Alice in Wonderland" view of the World.  And of course we could talk for hours about the impact of video games and sporting events that hone our combative spirits.  So in part, entertainment is used as an opiate for some, and a promoter of violence for others. 

I have no ready statistics for how many of the Ruling Class sit glued to their TV sets, or spend hours at the theaters or at the sporting arenas, but I do know that they spend far more time in planning the future of the Empire than they do wondering if Jessica or Phillip should have won the American Idol crown.  They do not watch the news, they make the news.  The Ruling Class hires people to watch the news and report back to them. 

We, most Americans, go about believing that world and national events are out of control and our government has no ability to do anything about it.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  The Empire Builders know exactly what they are doing, and they own governments and move armies and cause oppression whenever it suits their needs. 

I could go on for pages but I see the French Open is on TV.
