The creation of God

The Creation of God.

No my dears, God is not dead, for he never existed.
It is Man's imagination that has lifted him above other creatures.  Imagination enabled Man to explore and develop his language, and then to invent symbols to record his own history.  Man's imagination brought him out of the trees and caves and into dwellings shaped by his hands and also shaped by his imagination.
And Man imagined better tools and more efficient methods of hunting.  He imagined ways of protecting and growing his crops.  He imagined ways of using the wild fire to his own advantage.  He imagined ways of harnessing other creatures to do his hard work.
And because life was hard and not very safe, Man imagined a Land of Peace and Plenty.  And because Man was, after all, Man.  Because he was not always reliable or trustworthy or faithful, Man imagined One who was Perfect and who ruled over the Land of Peace and Perfection.
But Man lived in different groups.  and each group imagined their Perfect Being a little differently.  And each Perfect Being was imagined to hand down His Perfect Word.  Man called their imaginary Perfect Being by different names.  God, Aba, Allah and others.  And each Perfect Being had slightly different rules and each one was imagined to proclaimed that He was the true Perfect Being and the only way to gain eternal life.
And so Man gathered around his imaginary God and set out to enlighten all of the other men.  But they were already gathering about their Imaginary God and setting about to do the same thing.  And so it came to pass that Man's Imagination took up real arms and weapons and fell upon one another in defense of their Imagination.
This very Imagination which raised Man to such heights has also planted the seeds of Man's destruction.
Imagine an imagination that imagined an Image that actually took control over the real world and destroyed Man?
It could happen.
