Stop with it already.  I'm rolling on the floor with laughter.  Well, except for that bit about "blindly hanging on". 

Why do we always say Blindly, when we actually mean Stupidly? 

It just makes me fly into a blind rage. 

Maybe we could say, "they senselessly hang on..."? 

Even mindlessly or vacantly would sound better than blindly. 

So go and wash your mouth out with Ivory Soap.
