Mal, Frank, Bob and Justice Lovers Everywhere. 
 
Before we beat up on old Sherriff Arpaio,  let's ask ourselves who he represents.  Whose interests are served by this aging arrogant upholder of the Law and defender of Justice.  Who puts Arpaio in office election after election?  If we think Arpaio is violating human rights, destroying human dignity and damaging prison inmates health, then ask yourself who it is who thinks that there is nothing wrong with such harsh punishment. 
It is possible that Arpaio has brought in that gang from Chicago who claimed to vote early and often, but probably not.  Enough average citizens approve of his high handed tactics  to keep him coming back year after year.  But beyond representing sweet little old grandmas and vacant eyed Grandpas, Arpaio is that visible face of the Great Corporate Empire. 
They love him. 
The judicial system in this nation is put in place by the same folks who bring you your American Congress, the President and the Supreme Court.  What justice exists for you and me is what little slops from their banquet table.  Justice exists for the affluent, not the Peasants. 
Ask yourself this, how many of Arpaio's prisoners, living in hot tents and wearing pink diapers are members of the Ruling Class? 
Let me help you.  Zero.  That's the answer.  None. 
Why do you suppose Arpaio and others like him, focus on the very poor, and people of color as potential Terrorists? 
Again, the answer is simple.  The Ruling Class is afraid of them.  The Corporate First Class Citizens know the hopelessness they have subjected the poor and the minorities to. 
They fear that out of these rank and file disenfranchised citizens could come terrorist activity, directed at them. 
So rather than pawing the ground and frothing at the mouth each time we hear the name, Arpaio, let us instead, put up posters featuring his tough, no nonsense face, with a slogan across the bottom.  "Greetings Planet Earth.  The Empire is coming to get you.

Speaking of things scummy, I heard males sometimes sell their well worn pink underwear on EBay for impressive sums.  Does the article mention anything about how prisoners get back at the bad Sherriff?

Well then I guess no prisoner should receive any protection from any prisoner.  I have only what information that I have read.  Some of which is obviously slanted and biased.  I also have no information about his familial history.   If he has violated criminal codes this should be brought to the attention of the appropriate authority.  Fortunately or unfortunately I am not in a position  to describe him as 'scum'.  As of this point in time I have not discussed the Sheriff with personal friends on a face to face basis.  My comments have been limited to Blind Democracy.
