telling them apart

Often folks mistake a prosperous business owner for one of the 1%.  Mostly, these business owners are what we used to call, Upper Middle Class. 

It is easy to tell them apart from the Ruling Class.  If an economic down turn wipes them out; if they can't get the government to bail them out; if they can't move their business to another country; then they are not part of the 1%.
