Brian,
Naturally we would not want to include such seldom used commodities as fuel and food in figuring our cost of living. Remember, here in the United States, unlike you gentle, soft Canadians, we are the rugged individuals. We can chew grass with the cows if we need to, and when we get cold and can't get to Florida, we just jump in the Great Lakes and when we crawl out we feel so much warmer. Gosh Brian, you don't begin to know how liberating this can be. And we don't need none of that Socialized Medicine, like you wimps up North have. Nope, get sick around here and you just work it out. Even better than that, just head for one of them big tent revivals. Every day hundreds of folks are receiving miraculous healings for only the cost of bus fare and a small donation at the door.
I really feel sad for them folks forced to live up on the hill behind their iron gates and waited on hand and foot by their servants. What a tough life, not being able to feel the thrill of walking down a dark, deserted street at night wondering if the next corner will bring you face to face with a bunch of drugged up punks. And they miss the thrill of sitting all morning and evening in bumper to bumper traffic breathing the fresh invigorating gasoline and diesel fumes. Well Brian, gotta go eat my Gruel and dry bread. This is a good day. Tomorrow we only have thin water to eat.
