US attack kills 5 Afghan kids

We read the same information, but internalize it based on our current influences.  When I was a Christian, I would read the news differently than I do as an Agnostic.  I am certain that Obama takes in information and then weighs it based on what his Masters tell him to believe.
I'm being serious.  Does it matter if our Master is Jesus Christ, Mohamed, Wall Street or The Big Bang?
It is our point of reference that determines what we call "Truth".
My personal spin is that we must learn to take in what is going on about us and then trust our own instincts rather than having to look to others, or to some imaginary "All Knowing Being", whether that be God or Wall Street.

You know that just after he was elected, Obama was reading Steve Coll's
extensive history of Afghanistan. But what he learned from that book
obviously had no effect on U.S. policy. If you look at the way the
government has handled our financial crisis, knowing our history has had no
effect on U.S. financial policy either. U.S. policy seems to be driven by
something other than knowledge of history or of cause and effect.
