On balance, I'd rather work for Nordstrom's than for most other retailers. Especially Wal-Mart. My son worked for several years for Fred Meyer's. It was the same old same old. Low wages, non-union, extra work for no extra pay. It was always interesting to me to hear these tight fisted store managements demand Loyalty from their employees, some go so far as to fire you if you are caught with competitor's products, but they never talk about developing respect between company and employees.
Oh, bite my tongue! Respect for the flunkies?
