There are none so blind as those who will not see. 

 

We live in one of the most violent times, in one of the most violent nations in the history of our species. 

And yet we go about holding out our Holy Writings, proclaiming that we are the Peace Makers.  Like the simple Dodo Birds, we cannot seem to find a way to stop our slaughter and our ultimate extinction. 

As smart as we've become, we still lack the wisdom to learn from our own mistakes.

Subject: Connecticut shooting

NPR - 20 children, 8 adults, including the shooter and someone at another
location. Small town, western Connecticut, shock, peaceful safe town, no
crime problem which may be code for no poor people or people of color, I
can't tell. Obama actually mentions possibility of gun legislation, Finally!
One of the dead is the mother of the perpetrator who was a teacher at the
school. Another is an individual with whom the perpetrator lived.

All this violence, shootings, does it occur to anyone that the seeds of the
violence are in our culture, in the wars, the imprisonments, the capital
punishment?
