This article reminds me of how indifferent Americans are to the treatment of women, both here and abroad.

MEN BEHAVING BADLY? AND MILLIONS DEFENDING THEM?PERISH THE THOUGHT!I don't know why people are shocked by this latest story, or claim they are. Where have they been for the past . . . oh . . . history of the world? Gee, ya mean men rape women? And brag about it? And joke about it? And blame the victim? And the most privileged are usually the worst offenders? Ya know, like athletes, for example? Why, I'm shocked, shocked, I say! I can't believe our Fine Upstanding Virtuous Heros Of Such Nobility would ever behave this way! Why, this never happens! And what a shame for the poor football players, who might actually -- gasp! -- miss a game. That is, of course, the most important consideration. This is America, after all.
