I could become a believer in miracles

Good Tuesday morning Bob and All who were Spellbound by President Obama's Speech.

No doubt about it.  Barak Obama can deliver a good speech.  And this was one that Mitt would never have dreamed of.
While it was a stronger defense of All Americans, especially our educational needs, our health needs, our need for equality for women and LBTG's, as well as fairer treatment of people desiring to come to this Land of Opportunity, and especially the need to stand solid against any attacks on our social security/Medicare/Medicaid, it was still just a speech.
Remember, we are still waiting for the closure of Guantanamo that he so solemnly promised, and I'm still waiting for him to pull on his walking shoes and take his place beside the Union protesters.
I will be more than glad to back off my belief that he has no backbone, and, understanding that he is, and will continue to be beholden to the Empire, I will applaud him as a truly great president if he is bold enough and creative enough to find ways of standing up for the working class.
Finally, a good test will come shortly.  He also committed that he would take on global warming issues.
I've believed all along that Obama would wait for the air to clear a bit and then approve the Canadian to Texas oil pipeline, allowing sludge oil to be moved from one nation, Canada, to another, Texas, passing across the United States, where any damage will impact Americans.  And we know from past experience that the little guy is never compensated for the damage created by the Corporate Empire.
If Obama refuses to allow this pipeline to be built, I will become a believer in miracles.

Hi Carl,
Amen brother!
I must say, that was quite a speech we heard today. Was that really the same guy who's been president the last 4 years? The guy making the speech sounded way more progressive than President Obama.
Note that his only mention of foreign policy was how he wants us out of Afghanistan by end of next year.
I guess an I have a drone speech along the lines of the one I wrote yesterday would have gone over like a lead balloon. But it might have made it easier for him to reach out to Republicans! LOL.
Hey there Barack, that was some high and mighty talking you did on the Washington Mall. How do you believe your actions over the next 4 years will back it up.
Now that we heard you talking the talk, it's time we see you walking the walk.
Bob Hachey
