Degrading Treatment & Abusive Discipline in America's schools

 

Am I off in Wonderland, or is our educational system looking very much like our prison system? 

Where did we ever get the idea that we can warehouse children like chickens, and teach them our American values?  Or is that exactly what we are teaching them, our unspoken American values? 

How do you shove hundreds and even thousands of youngsters into over crowded, and under staffed buildings and expect to nurture and inspire them?  These are not conditions that raise up the inquiring minds and inspirational leaders of tomorrow.  This is the system that raises up the cannon fodder for the wars of the Empire Builders.  Angry, frustrated, social misfits who have only two directions to go in order to escape their poverty existence.  Prison or military.  Prison may be slightly safer.
