Once I was speaking to a group of students at the orientation and training center at the department of services for the blind in Seattle. At some point I referred to myself as, "an old Geezer".
A fellow of about 30 years of age shouted out, "That's degrading the elderly!"
Yoiks! It's pretty bad when a feller can't even put himself down without a fight.
I thanked the young man for his clear insight into who I was not, and decided not to tell him that at times my wife calls me, "you old fart". But she does it lovingly...I think.
