To All Believers in Charity,
In some cultures individuals do take care of themselves, with the help of the community. But what do folks do when they live in a culture that endorses slavery, serfdom, indentured servants or any other form of oppression? Long before we were taken over by the Industrial/Military Complex we had laws and accepted practices established to keep certain numbers of our people in their proper place. That would be, serving the Masters. We called these Masters by different, softer names. Captains of Industry comes to mind. But whatever we called them, their existence depended upon being able to dominate other members of their community. So they give us the double-talk. "Americans are rugged individuals", "We pull ourselves up by the boot straps", "Any citizen(man) can grow up to become president", "the self made man", and on it goes. So how do they explain the vast majority of people living from day to day? And the great numbers of folks who can't rise above the poverty level? The Elitists like Doug Casey smirk and call them stupid or lazy or incapable of managing their most basic of affairs. As if he and his ilk had nothing to do with their oppression.
It is important that we remember this man and his people. He speaks the truth when he tells us that he does not believe in charity. And just because some of these Masters look like us and try to sound just like the common people, they are not our people. We have nothing in common with any human being who sneers at charity.
