There's no left turn

I recall wishing that the Dixicrats would go away and let the more progressive democrats get some good legislation passed. 

Well they did.  They all turned Republican and took control of the government with the likes of Nixon and Reagan.  And over the years they managed to pull the progressives closer to their own mold until there was no real Progressive Wing to our national politics.  And now, from their own far right, a new bunch of anti people are emerging.  They are dragging the conservatives toward the right, witch is, in turn pulling the middle roaders, formerly the progressives, toward the right, too. 

What a mess.
