SuperObama

Today our politicians are all "Cookie Cutter" carbon copies of one another.  We allowed the potential progressive champions to be sneered at and smeared and tossed on the side of the political trail.  Shame on us.  We wanted a winner, so we went with the fellow with the cool manner, the quick smile, the sincere and open face. 

A very few folks warned us to listen more carefully to what this charming, intelligent, well spoken  man was really saying.  But we wanted to believe that we had a champion.  We allowed ourselves to believe that Barak Obama was going to stand tall as a leader and a champion of the Progressive Cause.  Sure, he's a kind, hard working caring man who put his time in the trenches, fighting for a better life for folks in his community.  But we failed to really study his voting record in the Senate.  And we forgot to ask how this man was going to prove himself as a leader.  We got ourselves so whacked out that we believed that he was going to step into a telephone booth and rip off his shirt and expose the big red "S" on his chest
