Be it ever so humble, there's no place for the older blind

Here is how the governor out here in Washington State expresses her love for the older blind people.  Keep in mind that the sacrifices are always made by those who can least afford to make them.  Hence the words from the Bible, "And the meek shall inherit the earth(dirt)".

The following is a portion of a letter from our governor to one of the Independent Living, Older Blind  providers.

"Thank you for writing about your concerns with the 2010 Supplemental Budget regarding the Older Blind.  I understand the importance of this program and how it assists many older, blind citizens in our state with vision rehabilitative services.  As you know we face an incredibly challenging legislative session in 2010, with a major funding shortfall that will impact virtually every state program.  Unfortunately, I was not able to maintain funding for the Older Blind program."

How's that for real compassion and understanding.
